Sharing the Story of God's Love to our Kids This Summer

It’s almost summertime!

I admit - as my thoughts drifted to a change of pace, my fingers stopped typing. Things like staying in my pajamas for long mornings or whole days even, the beach and pool, afternoon thunderstorms, and time with friends and family captivated me. I held memories and expectations with open hands and said a hope filled prayer.

Last summer, I did something that actually changed me. I committed to help with VBS at Grace Church. Agreeing to attend to a few meetings and to help wherever there was a need, I ended up with the privilege of telling the kids a Bible story each day. I met and got to know talented people who told God’s love and grace filled story in fascinating and creative ways. Together, we pulled off a pretty amazing event for our kids. VBS was my point of entry into the Grace Kids world. It’s a place I’ve come to dearly love.

Now, it’s my privilege to invite you to be a part of this summer’s VBS event. As you may have seen, our theme this year is the SuperHero Olympics (Register Here) – well really, that is our hook to draw in the kids and the means of telling our story. Our theme truly is God’s love.

If you are interested, here are a few things to note:

  •  We will briefly meet after church on Sunday, June 5th and June 26th (20-30 minutes).
  •  VBS is July 11-13, from 9am – 12pm.
  •  We will meet as a team each morning at 8am and registration will open at 8:30am.
  •  We have several storytelling opportunities open in many different areas:
  1. Set design
  2. Small group leaders and assistants
  3. Snacks
  4. Registration and check-in
  5. Skits
  6. Assistants in the game, crafts, Bible story, and experience rooms.

I’d truly love for you to be a part. Would you consider committing to what promises to be a great, exhausting, fulfilling three days? Let me know via email Leslie@graceorlando.com or simply come to this Sunday's meeting. You'll be glad you did!

Most sincerely,
Leslie Chambers

WRITERS GROUP/ GRACE JOURNAL
MISSION STATEMENT

Part of Grace Church’s heart and mission is to inspire an awareness of the finished work of Christ. We are driven to help others deepen a renewed understanding of the finality of our Savior's sacrifice. As believers, we celebrate and share in the privilege of being an active and significant part of HIStory - The Jesus Narrative. We have been given a unique opportunity to share this narrative with others through insights of a grace engaged culture. Using powerful individual stories collected and woven together with the common thread of Christ, our hope is to display and honor the personal and ardent love that our Savior has for each of us.

It's our sincerest hope and desire to use the Grace Journal as an inspirational teaching tool, a demonstration of a life lived in the knowledge of our identity in Christ, and as a resource for our church family as well as those outside of our church.
