Practical Love: Care Packages for the Homeless

How often have you pulled up to a light and seen a person standing there with a sign asking for help in one way or another? Usually, they're asking for a monetary donation you may not have or don't feel comfortable handing out. Our ladies wanted to help with a solution!

This past Saturday, the women of In the Glow created care packages for the homeless. The care packages are designed to hand to people in need.  Over 20 women attended the event, and 186 bags were made. We are blown away by the outpouring of love and support from our women. It is inspiring to see what God is doing in our church community.

The women created an assembly line and filled Ziploc bags with food, toiletries and other day-to-day necessities. The final step was the addition of an encouraging note designed to bring hope and highlight the love and concern our Father has for each of us.

By the end of the morning, the surplus of items created 186 packages. It was amazing to see how many lives would be touched and changed by the efforts of all who were involved, and the effort to provide help to those who need it didn't end at the event. There were enough packages remaining at the end to be offered to the entire church Sunday. We are blown away by the outpouring of love and support from our women. It is truly exciting to see what God is doing in our church community.
